What the weight loss industry will never tell you. ever!
The weight loss industry wants you to stay reliant on them. They want you to continue to struggle with your weight so that you will stay in a cycle of buying weight loss solutions. This will allow them to continue to make money on you. The weight loss industry is worth billions of dollars and shows no sign of slowing down and oddly the obesity rate is just getting higher. Does that make any sense? If there are billions of dollars being spent on weight loss solutions then shouldn't the obesity rate be going down?
So do all these companies just lie to steal your money? Well no, many of the smaller companies are started by individuals that found weight loss solutions that changed their lives and they wanted to share that solution with others to help them change their lives for the better. Unfortunately not everything works for everyone since we are all different. So it's just a matter of finding what will work for you.
However there are many companies especially the larger ones that just say this one ingredient has been proven to help with weight loss so they put a small amount in a pill and say it's scientifically proven to help you lose weight. They however don't care about the quality of the ingredient or the ones that surround it which is important.
The next thing they pitch for weight loss is exercise programs which is both very expensive and time consuming. There is no doubt that exercising helps with weight loss. There are a few major problems with this though. The first is that if you're already overweight then exercising becomes incredibly difficult and even more time consuming then someone that is already fit. Increasing the difficulty and time of something makes it very difficult to stick with especially when it takes time to yield results. It's not like you can do 10 sit ups and instantly get a six pack or even lose a single pound. This makes it a discouraging option for many people.
So onto the weight loss equipment, while they claim their machine is the next revolution it's not. It's just not. The always claim it will help motivate you and it's easy to use. As always though they forget the increase in difficulty for those that struggle with weight.
With that said, I'm not saying exercise and equipment don't have their place because they certainly do. Their place is for those that only need to lose a few pounds like 10 - 20 and have the time and most importantly the desire to use them. They are also great for maintaining weight and building muscle which if very important. You simply need to evaluate at which point you are in in your weight loss journey and what your desire is.
So what what about surgery? is it worth it? Maybe maybe not, it really depends on your situation. First can you even afford it? and if you can is it worth the cost? The main thing you have to remember about surgery is that it isn't magic and it still requires you to have major lifestyle changes to maintain weight loss after the surgery. These major lifestyle changes are the same ones they tell you to have to loss the weight without surgery. So why not just make the lifestyle changes and save yourself some money.
So to the last big cash cow of the weight loss industry. Ever heard of Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, or Nutrisystem? These are some of the first big name meal planning companies. While some have found success and enjoy them. Many people have not. Not to mention it's an expensive way to eat and with grocery prices sky high already adding to that bill doesn't seem like a great idea.
So here's the biggest problem with all these solutions. All of them assume you are doing things that are making you overweight. Which you may or may not be doing. The truth is everyone is different. Every ones body works differently. You know the people that are naturally thin that do all the same things you do and struggle to gain weight. What's inside you is the reason for weight. The funny thing is naturally thin people actually have more fat inside them but it's brown fat. Do you know about brown fat? This video explains it well. The beginning of the video is hard to watch but does demonstrate how people don't understand the problem people face inside themselves. Screw those people. You're here to improve your life for you and your loved ones. No one else.
